So the event has started a while ago. Were about a half month in now. Since this course was intended for all skill levels, it starts off with the bare bones basics. Even now, almost 15 days in, were still going over fundamental concepts. I dont hate this. As there is potential for beginners to join this class, it needs to be done. This teacher does take a good amount of time to explain everything which i am thankful for. Still it is a bit tedious. I wish there was a first time learner in our group so that there would be questions and interactions within the chat room. Right now its just people who's skill level exceeded the current lesson. Besides the lesson, there are exercises. Most of them are well under 100 lines so far, but they are fun to do. This is whats helping me keep going because id probably have quit already if it was only the video lessons. Even if a exercise only displays fundamental skills, its still a good idea to do them. I think we will soon reach the lesson days where the lessons will become more interesting rather then exclusively the exercises being the only interesting bit. Ive looked ahead and some of the projects seem fun so im excited to get there soon. Because we are still so early in this community learning event its still a good time to join. You can join whenever throughout this event, but the sooner the better so that you will have less catch-up to do to be along side the rest of the group. Its a real casual environment so dont feel obligated to do anything. For me, i just am more likely to work on something and keep working on it, rather then abandon it a few weeks later, if i have someone along side me doing the same project. I dont know how many people are like me, but i feel ill be more responsible and diligent if i have other people to keep me mutually accountable. This post does not contain much that i would like it too. I intended the updates to include stuff like what we learned, the most exciting project, possibly even a showcase of something that was built that month... but as i stated in the beginning, its just fundamentals. I sure hope this wasn't a terribly boring read, and i hope that you join us in the community learning room and work with us to complete 100 days of python.
