99% of android users also only get their apps from playstore so its not apple specific. kinda a mobile thing in general. hopefully events like this will show people why its good to be able to load your own software from anywhere onto your device. atleast in the eu they are trying to make some requirements that they open their store a bit. not here in us, its official store ONLY or else you void your warranty.
considering that most apps are free on mobile, thats not a huge issue. and no. look at pc users. Sure on pc there is alot more fake apps that are malware (thats what i assume you mean by attacks). but id rather take the risk rather then have 1 company tell me what i can or can not download
I believe that all these companies want to do is provide their users with more secure applications. Then they tell you what you should and shouldn't download.
ofcourse. thats the same reason google scans your emails for malware. the same reason at&t listens to your phone calls. same reason microshit wants you to back stuff up in their cloud. for your security.
the average person who wants to dual boot their phone with a custom rom, does not need apple telling me what they can/can not do with their phone. that person prob knows what their doing if thats a task they are taking on. rather they lock you down to using them as the only source because then they have control over it & by relation control over what you can have. look. we both live in free countries. But look at russia. because apple is required to take down ALL vpn apps. and app store is only place you can get apps, russian iphone users cant connect to free'er internet to read news or message other ppl. they cant get encrypted email and messagng apps. because its banned on the app store.
its about control and profit. they only say its for your security, they ALL say its for you security.

hopefully people realize that its not a good idea to have all your apps only come form 1 place.
you mean on a single platform (Apple)?

but won't that lead to attacks and pirated software?
