While the company presents itself to the world as being focused on creating non-sentient monkey "organ bags" to replace animals in pharmaceutical testing, the report discovered a much more ambitious and ethically explosive agenda. R3 Bio describes its immediate goal as building complex biological platforms for scientific research that lack consciousness, sentience, or pain because they have no brain.
